Subject: Important Update Regarding Social Media Post
Dear Donovan Middle School Families,
We want to make you aware of a situation brought to our attention earlier today involving a social media threat directed toward Donovan Middle School.
As soon as we became aware of the post, we immediately worked with the Utica Police Department to investigate and identify those involved.
Based on the information available at this time, the post is connected to a separate situation in the community and is not considered a credible threat to our school. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement as they follow up on the matter.
Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased security presence at Donovan for the remainder of the week.
Along with UPD, we are also working with our community partners at SNUG and Rebuilding the Village to support outreach efforts connected to this situation and help prevent further issues.
We appreciate those who reported this so it could be addressed quickly, and we encourage families to continue sharing any concerns with us.
The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We appreciate your partnership and the continued support of our Donovan school community.
