Making a Splash at Swim Camp!

This summer, students across the district had the chance to make a splash at Proctor High School’s Swim Camps. The week of July 14 welcomed swimmers entering grades 5 through 8, while the August 4 session is geared toward students in grades 9 through 12. Both camps give students the opportunity to explore the sport of competitive swimming in a supportive and skill-focused environment.

For younger students, the camp offered a first look at what it’s like to be part of a swim team. Coaches worked closely with participants to develop the fundamentals of swimming technique, including arm pulls, body positioning, breathing, and kicking. Swimmers were placed into lanes based on skill level, allowing each student to build confidence and progress at their own pace.

Both camps were created to build awareness of the district’s swim program and to help students develop confidence, discipline, and a love of the sport. We’re proud to offer these free summer opportunities that encourage students to stay active, try something new, and grow as athletes and individuals.
