Students from Proctor High School participated in the TechHorizonU26 event hosted at
Utica University, where they engaged in an immersive, hands-on coding experience
designed to build real-world technology skills. During the event, students were
introduced to a new coding technique and challenged to immediately apply their
learning by developing a small application or prototype connected to a surprise domain
revealed on-site. This fast-paced, collaborative environment encouraged creativity,
problem-solving and adaptability, as students worked through the design and
development process in real time. The event provided valuable exposure to emerging
technology concepts while reinforcing the importance of innovation, teamwork and
career pathways in computer science and related fields.
